Todd Sawicki
Todd is co-host of the Middlemen Podcast.
He comes from a deep background in both the retail media and tech startup ecosystems. Prior to founding Nextipedia, Todd served as CEO of Zemanta, a content discovery and native advertising platform, from 2012 until its acquisition by Outbrain in 2017. During his tenure, he led the company's pivot from a blogging tools provider to a programmatic native advertising platform. Before Zemanta, he was Chief Revenue Officer at Cheezburger Network, where he helped grow the company's advertising business and overall revenue significantly between 2010-2012.
He is excited to continue dissect complex topics around retail media, e-commerce, and ad tech with both his co-host Tom their myriad of guests among The Middlemen Podcast.
Tom Limongello
Tom is co-host and producer of the Middlemen Podcast.
Prior to working with Todd in the Shopify ecosystem, he built Retail Media Networks at Quotient, a consumer app for restaurant reviews called Truffle, mobile ad tech for Crisp and in his early career worked in CPG for Unilever in Chicago and in Shanghai.
Tom loves to talk about the relationships between Retailers and CPG brands as if it were grand strategy in the style of military history, because, basically it is.


Scott Messer
Scott is co-host of the Middlemen Podcast.
He is a media executive, advisor, and founder with deep experience across digital publishing, advertising technology, and monetization strategy.
Scott currently leads Messer Media, where he advises publishers, retailers, and ad-tech companies on navigating an evolving media and advertising landscape. Previously, Scott served as Senior Vice President, Media at Leaf Group, overseeing revenue operations across a large portfolio of owned and operated digital properties.
With more than two decades in the industry, he has held senior leadership and board advisory roles focused on scaling media businesses, optimizing monetization models, and adapting to major shifts in data, privacy, and audience behavior.
As an industry insider, Scott is a valued voice in conversations around the future of media, known for grounding big ideas in real-world operating experience.
